Regenerative braking is a braking system that can recapture
much of the truck's kinetic energy and convert it into electricity, so that it
can be used to recharge the batteries. This process prolongs the battery
run-time in your forklift allowing for more up-time while the truck is in
service. This system is available on all Stärke electric forklifts.
A significant reduction in brake wear is another reason to
look for regenerative braking on your electric truck. This technology works in
such a way where the electric motor of the forklift is used to slow down the
truck when the operator backs off on the accelerator to slow down or during a
direction change which minimizes the amount of time that the operator needs to
use the brake pedal.
